Delegate Requirements: All delegates must be able to speak, read and write English. Previous health and safety knowledge is also recommended.

This two-day course covers all relevant legislation and other aspects of the building, construction and civil engineering industries that affect safe working. It highlights the need for risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of the necessary control measures and adequate communication, in order to sustain a health and safety culture in the workforce.

The course aims to help construction site supervisors to understand:

  • Health and safety law and how it applies to supervisors

  • Their supervisory responsibilities in controlling site safely

  • The importance of risk assessments and the need for method statements

  • How to deliver effective site inductions, toolbox talks and method statement briefings

  • How to monitor site activities effectively

  • Why timely intervention is important when bad practice is identified.
