Emergency First Aid Training Course
Duration: A minimum of 6 hours consisting of theoretical and practical activities.
Maximum number of delegates: 12
Each participant must be aged 16 years or above.
Aims and Objectives
Your risk assessment of First Aid needs may well identify the requirement for Emergency First Aiders in addition to your designated First Aiders. Or, where the risk of your business is low, it may well identify that it is sufficient to only require Emergency First Aiders.
There can be a course tailored to meet the requirements of your business to ensure that training will meet the associated RISKS of the business. Examples of course contents are below:
- Responsibilities and reporting
- Assessment of the situation
- Heart attacks
- Basic hygiene in First Aid
- Bleeding control
- Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
- Minor injuries
Assessment is ongoing by the instructor, and a qualification (valid for 3 years) will be issued to those who meet the criteria. In addition, the HSE strongly recommend that all students undergo an annual refresher programme of about 3 hours, although it is not mandatory
